Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates annual family income is less than Rs. 50,000 and they are eligible for fee concession, but not for job reservation.
Educational Qualifications and Age Limit
Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum educational qualifications (Degree from a recognized University or equivalent for all posts) on or before the closing date for application submission (20.11.2025). Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply. The age limit is 18-33 years as on 01.01.2026. Age relaxations are applicable for certain categories such as SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-servicemen, and PwBD.

Scribe Assistance
Scribe assistance is available for eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the categories of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected – BA), and Cerebral Palsy, if desired. Other categories of PwBD may be allowed a scribe upon production of a medical certificate. Recruitment Process Highlights
- Shorlisting Ratios: Candidates shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT will be 15 times the community-wise vacancies. Candidates shortlisted for CBAT/CBTST will be 8 times the vacancies for each community. Candidates called for Document Verification (DV) will be 1:1 of the vacancies.
- Final Merit Weightage: For posts with a Skill Test, the final merit list is:
- CBAT Posts (Station Master / Traffic Assistant): 70% weightage to 2nd Stage CBT marks and 30% to CBAT marks.
- CBTST Posts (Typist posts): Merit is drawn only from the 2nd Stage CBT marks, as CBTST is qualifying in nature.
- Negative Marking: There is negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer in both 1st and 2nd Stage CBTs.
- Fee Refund: The examination fee is refundable only to candidates who appear in the 1st Stage CBT.
